October 2, 2012
I can’t believe it’s already October.
I’m telling you, this season goes by so fast. Before you know it it’s going to be Christmas!
I’ll try not to get ahead of myself though.
I love getting dressed up for Halloween. I worked in restaurants for about 10 years and it was always fun to get dressed up for work and see all of the costumes the customers came up with. I have a box full of wigs leftover from that era that sadly don’t get to come out and play as much anymore.
But let’s be honest, as we get older, with full-time jobs and responsibilities, it can be hard to come up with great costumes (or maybe that’s just me?). More often than not, Hubs and I enjoy going to the neighborhood bar and watching all the little ones parade up and down the street with their parents, filling their pumpkins with candy from the local businesses. We are both looking forward to the day that we have little ones of our own to dress up.
One thing I never miss out on though is decorating the house. And as you can probably guess from my last couple of posts, the Halloween decorations come out Oct. 1 (and actually this year they came out on Sept. 29, but who’s counting, really?).
This year, I’ve found several great ideas that I’m excited to add to my repertoire:

This one is perfect for us because Hubs planted a TON of tomatoes over the summer
and we have all of the cages he used leftover.
